| Urban exploration 31/12/2006 Prora, Island of Rugen, Germany Situated on the Island of Rugen, Prora is a 4.5 kilometer long holiday complex consisting of 10,000 identical rooms built by the Nazi's as part of a social engineering scheme designed to strengthen German families. The Island of Rugen is located in East Germany, near Poland and the Prora complex stretches the entire length of Rugen's best beach. Never completed, Prora has stood for over 70 years despite attempts by the Russians to dynamite it after the war and the majority of it is now abandoned. The buildings are fenced off and boarded up for good reason: many of them are unstable and all of them are very dangerous. |
